Sophia Eris is a DJ/MC currently residing in Minneapolis, MN. Born as a Military Brat, she has moved through many different homes & influences that has left her open minded and forever a student of life. Musically, she has used her upbringing to cultivate her skills in the exact same way. She is now a DJ for the booming new Hip Hop radio station in Minneapolis, Go 95.3, and also the touring DJ for the newly Atlantic Records signee, Lizzo. Her highly anticipated self-titled debut album produced by Prophis has recently been released on July 19th, and she looks forward to continue to conquer every one of her endeavors. Stay tuned.
SAMMUS (Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo) is an Ithaca-raised, Philadelphia-based rap artist, producer, and PhD student in the Department of Science & Technology Studies at Cornell University. Known as much for her rousing stage presence as she is for her prowess as a beatmaker and lyricist, Sammus has spent the past several years cultivating a strong following of activists, hip hop heads, punks, and self-identified nerds and geeks, among others. As noted by the Los Angeles Times, Sammus “has a gift for getting a message across.”
Yaya Bey is a singer/songwriter, visual artist, curator and New York native. As daughter of hip hop pioneer Grand Daddy I.U, Yaya Bey has been surrounded by music since childhood. Influenced by the candidness of Donny Hathaway and authenticity of artists like Gladys Knight and the Notorious B.I.G, Bey’s ultimate goal is to attempt to do the narrative of Black American justice. Her debut EP “The Many alter-egos of Trill'etta Brown” has been featured on Saint Heron The Fader and Essence. Her work serves as both cathartic relief and what she hopes will be a form of advocacy for people with similar experiences. As the daughter of Granddaddy I.U. hip-hop and R&B culture (and the context of its origins) are at the foundation of all her creative endeavors.
A self-proclaimed “Daughter of the Midwest,” singer/songwriter K.Raydio (born Krysta Rayford) has released two EP’s, performed in many of the Twin Cities’ landmark concert venues (7th Street Entry, Cabooze, Varsity Theater), established a fanbase in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, and conquered stage fright – in less than a year. Who is K.Raydio? You’re about to find out.
