All dues from this membership tier go directly to the wholesale purchase of locally raised meat from Local Foods, which is then donated to Fresh Market, "client-choice food pantry that provides groceries and various supplies to families in East Garfield Park. Residents also receive access to legal aid, food stamps, housing and employment information, financial management, GED certification and family workshops." Fresh Market is run by Breakthrough Urban Ministries, and you can learn more about their mission at https://breakthrough.org/programs/fresh-market/ The Chicago Meat Collective has chosen to partner with Fresh Market by donating local meat on a monthly basis in an effort to extend new access to high quality protein to communities in need. The sky is the limit for these donations, and the more monthly support we gather the larger quantities we can give. Thank you for your support!
