Join us for April’s WYD?, our intimate and informal monthly gathering where members of the NAVEL community come together to present, perform, or test their work, thoughts, or current research topics.

Taking a non-hierarchical approach, these month’s speakers are tuned to the needs and desires of their respective communities, while celebrating their many modalities of expression. Join us to hear from Pieter Performance Space, Human Resources, and Por Vida Media Collective share more about how they are making it happen, together.

Our current working definition of collective empowerment:
“We centralize the empowerment of those who have been kept out of traditional creative spaces, and champion collective care over individualism. This looks like expanding our capacity for empathy, creating intersectional solutions for complex problems, and resisting the power structures designed to divide and marginalize us. Moving at the speed of trust, we aim towards a future where our honesty, healing, and rejoicing includes historically excluded folks, insisting that true empowerment go beyond providing resources to actually sharing real power.”

This year, we are curating our monthly WYD? Installments as a space to learn from our community and local context as we dive deeper into our values.
