Maddi Baird
Maddi Baird is a composer whose work focuses on but is not limited to, multimedia scoring, live performance, DJ'ing, sound design, and installation art. They approach their work from a multi-disciplinary and mindful lens in order to create unique and textured soundscapes that connect memory to sound. A part of their art is trying to find why instrumental music feels so human. They explore this by trying to convey mood rather than emotion. Their recent release “Holobiont” focuses on connecting to nature, biological collectivism and exploring both human and nonhuman experiences on Earth. They hold a B.M in Composition from San Diego State University and will be attending CalArts in the fall of 2021 pursuing an MFA in Composition & Experimental Sound Practices.
