Ron Shalom is a producer, composer, songwriter, sound designer and instrumentalist based in Brooklyn. Minivan is his solo electropop project featuring lights, disintegrating drag, and instructional dance. The debut album, CreepySexyCool, was released in Summer 2018. This performance will mark the culmination of Ron's 3-week residency at Rhizome.

Katie Macyshyn’s new media/performance pieces, which include video, sound, costume, and installation, use the lense of camp to enact the duties of magical female protagonists. Part angel, part alien, these divas float through lounge acts, variety shows, straight to TV movies, infomercials, and automaton-guided museum tours. The one-woman experimental performances consider the subtle differences between exploitation and empowerment and show how mass forms of entertainment can (techni)color memories.

"Why are you so into lube?" I was asked this hours before the first the Lube Fairy performance on facebook. That question is why I am so into lube. I talk about why lube is such an important part of sex for so many people and why it is beneficial to think about our cultural feelings and personal feelings about using lube. Some people have just never considered using lube, but maybe you have had bad experiences, or have some shame around using lube. We also discus lube basics like the four kinds of lube, compatibility with toys and safer sex barriers, how different lubes feel, and the potential benefits and drawbacks to consider of each kind. The best part is the audience gets to bring home a goody bag of body safe lubes provided by Good Clean Love, Waterslide, SUTIL, Uberlube, Pink, Pjur and Southern Butter. My hope is that the lube samples empower people to begin to think, talk and make the best choices for their bodies, sexuality, and sexual health.
