Mindfulness meditation is an empowering practice that leads to a clearer mind, a wider and more accessible heart, as well as a more intimate relationship with our bodies. It is tremendously helpful when navigating life at large and forms a powerful companion when under the influence of psychedelics.

Psychedelic experiences tend to sublime and amplify what is already there, the beautiful…and the ugly. Without preparation, one is vulnerable to abrasive mindstates, overwhelming emotions or bodily discomfort, potentially leading to a painful and frightening experience, colloquially referred to as a ‘bad trip’.

Through meditation practice, we learn ways to turn hardships into insights as well as cultivating stability and resilience in the face of challenging experiences. Causes and conditions for such experiences become clearer, rendering us more confident, less constrained by the boundaries and defenses of the ego. In this way we open up to the sacred and develop our capacity to receive insights, wisdom and healing from these fascinating and mystical substances.

Mindfulness practice can be really supportive when trying to break away from unhelpful habits while cultivating new ones. That alone, can prove to be crucial when integrating psychedelic journeys and the realizations that may have come with it so we don't just snap back into who we were or let these realizations slowly fade away into a distant memory.

This course is first and foremost an introduction to Mindfulness Meditation taught by an instructor who has a relationship with psychedelics. There will be room for reflection on the similarities and divergences between these two, some personal stories about the instructor's experiences on the matter. Please note that we will not use any substances during the classes. This is a great opportunity to develop your own meditation practice or to deepen it if you already have one. It is also a great way to build towards your next psychedelic journey and/or to gain perspective on past journeys.

Join us for this 6-week course, limited to 20 participants, as we explore together this transformative and yet largely uncharted territory.

____ Meet Guillaume:

Guillaume Caron’s greatest teachers are the challenges and wonders of his own life: balancing artistic aspirations with the necessity to make a living, striving for a healthy lifestyle in a massive urban center, and adapting to a non-native culture and language while remaining authentic.

Guillaume started practicing meditation in 2014 at New York Insight where he was exposed to a vast array of teaching styles and ways of relating to the Dharma. His main inspirations are Martin Aylward and Ajahn Sucitto, as well as his guiding teacher Bart Van Melik.

While rooted in Theravada Buddhism, Guillaume has been exploring other traditions of awakening and modalities of healing such as non-violent communication, inner child awareness and plant medicine ceremonies.

His experiences with psychedelics, both within and outside ceremonial spaces, form a synergetic relationship with his practice of mindfulness meditation as well as his ongoing study of the Dharma.

Guillaume is currently in the Mindfulness Training Institute under the guidance of Martin Aylward and Mark Coleman.
