A long lost 1984 ninja flick finally comes to life! New York Ninja was the work of director and actor John Liu, a passion project meant to turn him into the next western martial arts hero. Liu successfully cobbled together Dolemite, a special effects budget of $100, and some ninja roller skates, but ultimately the project was canned when its distribution company went bottoms up.
Vinegar Syndrome found the original unedited camera negative decades later and completed the film with a new score by Voyag3r and voice work from b-movie legends like Linnea Quigley and Cynthia Rothrock. Fun, funny and winning, New York Ninja is basically the perfect late night sleepover movie … and the starturn Liu deserves after all these years.
Sliding scale $5-10 tix available for presale, any remaining sold at door (all proceeds go to studio's screening fees and future programming all for you!).
