“What's in the basket?” This was the question which would introduce the world to one very small, very twisted, and very mad resident of a seedy New York motel; launching first-time feature director Frank Henenlotter into blood-splattered stardom. Following mild-mannered Duane Bradley and Belial – his killer conjoined twin secreted away in a wicker receptacle – BASKET CASE brings the gutters of 42nd Street screeching to the screen in a flurry of grindhouse horror-comedy and low-budget ingenuity. If you caught our screening of Henenlotter’s BRAIN DAMAGE and felt like one totally unhinged movie about a rubber monster representing repressed homosexuality wasn't enough… good news!
