A practical and fun introduction to modular synthesis and electronic sound creation using VCV Rack 2, a Eurorack simulator for Mac/Windows/Linux. Learn to create a ‘patch’ to produce electronic sound and leave with the tools for limitless sound creation.

Participants will need a laptop with VCV Rack 2 (free or paid verison) installed & headphones. We will be working entirely in software for the duration so don't forget your laptop power supply as well!

About the Instructor
Ryan Smith is a lifelong musician, guitarist in the band Caribou, makes techno music under the name Taraval, ambient music as Bathing, and heads an electronic music education program and studio at the Gray Area Foundation for the Arts in San Francisco.
