It's time for another big batch of archival 16mm (no digital!) animated cartoons from the 1920s through the 1940s, straight from the Tommy José Stathes Archives to Rubulad's silver screen!

For our very special 111th program, the presentation sheds the spotlight on beloved classic animation producer Max Fleischer and the ever-enjoyable films from Fleischer Studios. In addition to showcasing Fleischer's well known characters, we'll include some early rarities and obscurities as well. Come and enjoy the likes of Koko the Clown, Betty Boop, Bimbo, Popeye, Color Classics, Superman, and others. And yes—there will even be some singalongs with the famous bouncing ball! You won't want to miss this.

NOTE: This will be an *extra long* Cartoon Carnival, featuring more than two hours of film material, as opposed to our typical ~90 minute film programs in past year. We'll have two intermissions instead of one. So, there'll be plenty opportunity for guests to stretch and get more refreshments throughout the evening.

TWO SESSIONS! Since last month's Carnival sold out almost immediately once tickets went up for sale, and in order to accommodate a variety of busy schedules, we've decided to host TWO back-to-back sessions of the same program. The first will take place at 3pm and the second at 7pm. To be clear, the same sets of films will be shown at both sessions—these are not two entirely different programs.

Be sure to bring all your offbeat film-loving friends out to see these now-rare cartoons the way they were meant to be seen—projected on 'reel' film, and enjoyed with a live audience.

Cartoon Shopping and Film Archive Benefit Sale:
As a fundraiser for the Cartoon Carnival series and our film archiving expenses, we'll have various goodies for sale—such as early animation Blu-rays/DVDs, collectible enamel pins (Betty Boop, Gumby, Koko the Clown, and others) and brand new cartoon character t-shirts in various sizes! Grab some goodies for yourselves or as gifts for friends, while benefiting a good cause.

Rubulad will have bar refreshments and some light snacks will available (typically regular and vegetarian hot dogs; possibly popcorn as well). Please support the venue for all drinks consumed. Bar/food are *cash only.*

We have limited seating capacity. You and your friends must grab advance tickets in order to secure entry. We may not be able to accommodate walk-up ticket buyers on the day of the event.

Schedule Session 1:

3:30pm introductions begin, followed by three sets of films (including two intermissions)
Session 1 will conclude by approx. 6:30pm.

NO EARLY BIRDS!
Doors open for Session 1 at 3pm, and we can only let our first round of guests enter the venue at 3pm—no earlier than that. We will be busy setting up just prior to 3pm. Thanks for understanding.
Doors open for Session 2 at 7pm, and we can only let guests for Session 2 enter at that time. Just prior, we will be cleaning up from Session 1 and will not be able to accommodate more guests until 7pm. We appreciate your cooperation.

2. Masks are optional but recommended.
