Join us in welcoming into the world Temporary State University, a new nonprofit organization dedicated to training the next generation of New Yorkers how to throw their own shows in a way that is fun, fair, and safe! We are celebrating our launch with a 15 act festival featuring some of New York's best artists, as well as three previews of our free workshop courses starting this Fall.

All of this is going down Saturday June 29th at Party Connection on Woodward Ave in Ridgewood btwn Gates and Palmetto. Come and stop by anytime from noon to midnight because we will be there all day, and nobody is turned away due to lack of funds! This is the climax of our inaugural fundraising drive lasting the month of June, so instead of selling tickets we are inviting anyone who wants to come on over and pay what you can. Sign-up for a monthly membership too! Mostly, we want to greet our neighbors and show them what we can do together.

*~*WHO IS TEMPORARY STATE AND WHAT DO WE DO*~*
Temporary State University is a non-profit training organization dedicated to educating New Yorkers on how to throw shows in a way that is fun, fair, and safe. We achieve this by publishing 3 guidebooks with 3 corresponding workshops about conceiving of, preparing for, and successfully running your own event. Those who complete all three workshops get to join a collective of people with access to the production equipment TSU rents at no-cost for collective members, as well as one-on-one guidance from a selection of different mentors. Collective membership is limited to a maximum of two years.

*~*OUR SUMMER 2024 FUNDRAISING DRIVE*~*
This is our first fundraiser, and all net proceeds from this event will be going into our annual budget with the goal of getting to $50,000 in total donations as well as membership pledges. pre-register for the workshops - We need to get a sense of demand for how many people are interested in our programming as that is what will determine the size of the venue we host them in and the frequency in which we plan them. donate sound equipment - This applies to new or used equipment, but preferably not totally broken! We are in search of someone who can help with massive speaker renovation, but for now if you have something that we can feasibly repair and work with please contact system@temporarystate.org.

donate storage or office space - We are in search of a secure and climate controlled room with 24 hour access that we can bring our production equipment to late at night after shows and do maintenance work during the day. If you have access to a place like this please contact system@temporarystate.org.

venues to host our workshops - Do you have access to a room that is public and can comfortably fit around 2 dozen people? Please contact workshops@temporarystate.org.
