Chimes of Bayonets Work. That’s what you hear on the 1st LP by Ithaca, NY’s Chimes of Bayonets. Drop the needle and you’ll hear it. Strength, energy and work. It’s akin to a finely carved piece of wood. Chimes of Bayonets: a multi-headed beast with adventurous yet strident passages. Across their 2 EP’s and this their first full length, you’ll be reminded of Kerosene 454, Unwound and June of 44 and like those bands, Chimes set forth with a self-made, DIY spirit that is reflected in their punchy and unexpected songs. Sharpened riffs, surging and melodic bass lines and a painter-style approach to drumming make Chimes of Bayonets sound like a new take on 90’s post-hardcore.
