Wonderville Workshop: Trig For Games by Andy Wallace

1186 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY, USA

$150
Online tickets not available
In this workshop, game designer and digital artists Andy Wallace will show you how to use some simple math to control enemy movement, visuals, and UI elements. No previous math skills necessary! Andy will guide you through the beautiful mathematical phenomena of sine and cosine waves and how simple trig functions can make your game look and feel slick with only a few lines of code. Workshop held at Wonderville.
This workshop will be taught in Processing, which is a free program language based on Java. Although no prior experience with Processing is necessary, it is recommended that you download it from processing.org and open it up the IDE before the workshop.
As this workshop focuses more on theory and universal mathematical principles, the code we’ll be writing will be relatively simple. Coders of all levels will be at home here. However, it is recommended that you have at least a small amount of programming experience in any language prior to attending this workshop.
You will need to bring your computer. If this creates a monetary burden that would prevent you from being able to attend the workshop, email andy@andymakes.com and I may be able to provide a laptop, but this will be extremely limited.
Andy Wallace is the creator of PARTICLE MACE, which can be played at Wonderville. More of his work can be seen at andymakes.com
