David Grubbs (Brooklyn, NY)

David Grubbs has released fifteen solo albums and appeared on more than 200 commercial releases. His ongoing collaborations include projects with visual artists Anthony McCall and Angela Bulloch and poet Susan Howe. Grubbs was a member of the groups Gastr del Sol, Bastro, and Squirrel Bait, and has performed with Tony Conrad, Pauline Oliveros, Luc Ferrari, Will Oldham, Loren Connors, the Red Krayola, and many others. He is a recipient of the Berlin Prize and a Grants to Artists award from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and directs the Blue Chopsticks record label.

Susan Alcorn

One of the world’s premiere exponents of her instrument, Susan Alcorn has taken the pedal steel guitar far beyond its traditional role in country music. Though known for her solo work, she has collaborated with numerous artists including Pauline Oliveros, Chris Cutler, the London Improvisors Orchestra, the Glasgow Improvisors Orchestra, Joe McPhee, Ken Vandermark, Nate Wooley, Ingrid Laubrock and Leila Bourdreuil, George Burt, Evan Parker, Michael Formanek, Zane Campbell, and Mary Halvorson among others.
