String the Beads: Awakening the Field of Relationship - Elizabeth Alanis - 12pm
7 participants
“Everything under the sky has a voice to speak with and wisdom to share.” (Old Blackfoot saying.)
String the Beads is an old practice we still see in Mayan and Native American cultures, that allows each participant to speak from the deeper places of the heart, without interruption. We will focus on hearing everyone and understanding what matters to each person in the moment; each voice is viewed as a unique and beautiful bead. As each person speaks, the talking piece goes around the circle and becomes the energetic “needle” carrying the thread of connection from person to person, “Stringing” the Beads together into a complete necklace and an energetic whole.

Mandala: My Meditative Mind - Marium Majid - 1pm
15 participants
The literal meaning of the word Mandala means circle and center in Sanskrit. Circles have very powerful significance in countless religions and traditions, including Hinduism and Buddhism. The creation of a mandala can promote mindfulness and is an activity frequently used in art therapy. During the workshop, we’ll draw a pattern consistently in a circular path, calming any nerves and enabling your mind to wander past physical patterns into deeper levels of thinking and consciousness. By the end of the workshop, participants will be make a unique mandala of their own that they can walk away with.

Write & Release - Salimaah El - 2pm
15 participants
Writing can be extremely powerful in healing, manifestation, and release. This workshop will begin with a mindful meditation and a freewriting to help participants ground and be present with their senses, as well as allow flow in describing their experiences and articulating their feelings (we will focus on making this specific and solution-based). Participants will do visualizations and record energies that they wish to release and/or intentions and goals that they would like to manifest on paper provided by me. Participants will burn the tiny sheets in a fire-safe bowl to release the intentions to spirit.

Herbs For Lucid Dreaming and Building Intuition - Arielle Hayat - 3pm
15 participants
Dreamtime can be a sacred place to explore consciousness. Lucid dreaming provides you an excellent opportunity to see your shadows in the waking reality. This often results in dramatic physical, mental and emotional healing. Lucid dreamers can more effectively harness their intuition because when dreaming, the conscious mind can’t hijack the intuition with its ego. With the help of some moon loving plants like mugwort, we will explore how to work with plant energies to enhance intuition and the ability to induce restful sleep with vivid dreams. Participants will leave with a complimentary bag of tea to be used as a traditional tea, sun tea, ritual bath, smoke, etc.

Magic Zigns & Vision Binders - Sherese Francis - 4pm
15 participants
This workshop will explore intuitive and spiritual writing; we will make our own sacred books and then fill them with sigils, glyphs, cosmograms, calligrams and spells based on a few writing prompts. Examples of my own work will be shown to attendees to guide them.

Medicinal Herbs 101 - Liner Nuñez - 5pm
15 participants
In the Bronx, and across New York City, there is limited access to nature. One of the most fundamental tools in decolonizing, undoing sexism, and surviving oppression, is remembering the medicine of land & our ancestors. During Medicinal Herbs 101 we will co-create a space to learn about herbs that can be used in medicinal baths, tend to our intuition, and improve our physical & spiritual health. During this workshop, using remedies passed down in Liner’s family, we will learn the properties of 3 sweet herbs, 3 bitter herbs, and 3 flowers, that should be EASILY accessible. Everyone will make their own blend of clearing and replenishing baths based on their symptoms.
