Together with interactive artist Marpi, Public Works founder Jeff Whitmore, and curator Kelsey Issel, we created Binary Salon – a place where artists working at the intersection of art + tech could come together to share ideas and practices. After 2 years of creating a jumping-off point at The Midway, these salons are now activating at other spaces around San Francisco.
Admission is FREE. RSVP to see the address.
Binary Salon 13 on Tuesday, December 10th @ 6pm will feature presentations by two artists:
+ RICHARD GRILLOTTI
"Resonant Waves: Immersed in Geometry" is an interactive, multisensory cymatic experience. This work engages with sound, basic sine waves, and how sound naturally forms up into intricate, often symmetrical geometric patterns when passed through a medium, such as water contained in dish.
The installation invites viewers to sit down, relax, and feel the tones that create these geometries, experiencing them in real-time as vibrations throughout their entire bodies. By adjusting the sound frequencies, viewers can explore the connection between vibration, its shapes, and its influence on their own physical and emotional systems.
+ TIM THOMPSON
