DARSHAN दर्शन is Sanskrit for “seeing.” It is an experience, common to both Hinduism and Buddhism, that transcends visual form and facilitates spiritual connection.

One “receives” DARSHAN in the company of spiritual friends while engaging with contemplative arts and sciences.

Join us on Bicycle Day for a special digital Darshan with author and Psychedelic Sangha co-founder Erik Davis.

This virtual event will take place at 5:00 PM Eastern & 2:00 PM Pacific.

Erik will be leading a discussion titled "LSD: Still a Problem Child" which will focus on the legacy of LSD culture and spirituality that began with Dr. Albert Hofmann.

From Erik:
The renaissance of psychedelia today has mostly starred substances like MDMA, psilocybin, ayahuasca, and ketamine. LSD, the single most influential psychedelic in the modern West, remains strangely marginalized. How does the history and lore LSD continue to illuminate our times and struggles?

All month we are honoring Dr. Hofmann and his fateful bicycle ride after becoming the first human being to intentionally ingest the mind altering drug. Hofmann originally synthesized LSD in 1938, but did not discover its psychedelic properties until five years later. On April 19th 1943, Hofmann intentionally took 250 micrograms of LSD at Sandoz Laboratories in Basel, Switzerland. This date is fondly known to psychonauts as "Bicycle Day" on account of Hofmann’s now infamous ride home; during which the psychedelic effects of the drug began to fully take hold.
