Presented by virtual care lab with Anise S. Hines and Marguerite Hemmings

Explore how movement and storytelling can help us re-member what holds us down in times of transition. We will drop into our bodies, loosen up, and express ourselves together. Seeking to get in tune with our bodies’ unique movements, we will learn and share movement practices to return to when we're apart. We will end with a collective discussion to imagine, understand and redefine what is valuable for each of us, finding the way Home into our bodies and understanding what we can build together in the re-imagined future.

About the hosts:
Anise S. Hines is a choreographer and teaching artist specializing in building individual and collective body intimacy. She roots her practice in storytelling and is fascinated about the intersection of theater and movement. Her project Displace: Home draws connection to people who have been displaced due to slavery & explores how they re-created re-generated re-imagined & transformed ‘home’.

She directs a multimedia endeavor called we free. we free looks at the millennial and gen z approach to liberation through its music, social dance and social media. we free is centered in the livelihood and reparation of the African continent and diaspora. It is a social experiment, a conversation, a non-performance, and in moments a critique of, this generation and what we are doing, right now, to be free.
