José Miguel Portal Session II
Saturday, November 21 2020 — 10 AM PDT - 1 PM EST - 7 PM CET (1 h 30 min)
Presented by José Miguel, Bhavik, Daniela, and the virtual care lab community
Join José Miguel Galán Najarro, a rapper, poet, friend and collaborator of virtual care lab in an open session via zoom and our web-based portal. José Miguel joins the session from Adelanto ICE Processing Center where he is detained. He has written over 40+ songs in near-total isolation at the center. In the Nov 21 session José Miguel will share new work and responses to previous session comments.
Through this space, José Miguel is excited to engage in caring, creative conversation with all of us about the work and perspectives he has cultivated from inside prison. These sessions are monthly gatherings through which we listen and reflect together on Jose Miguel’s work and write responses directly on the site. As circumstances permit, José Miguel is patched in on a call to join the session live.
Portal responses and screenshots are routinely shared with José Miguel through his attorney Daniela by text or mail. José Miguel’s responses to our comments from October's session will soon be posted at https://josemiguel.virtualcarelab.com/responses/. Beyond these gatherings, we encourage folks to engage with the portal on their own time as well to continue the conversation.
