As part of NYC Open Data Week, this workshop will explore the possibilities that digital tools and strategies can open up for private-public partnerships to engage communities in service design and technology. How can we create content architectures that reward citizens for their participation and collaborate with digital brands to create informative and accessible visual surveying tools?
We will dive into a case study that centers around mobility systems outside Manhattan's Central Business District, specifically looking at connectivity between The Bronx, to the boroughs and industrial zones throughout the tri-state area, as a way to better understand the relationship between "car culture," public transportation, and micro-mobility initiatives.
This workshop is geared towards systems thinkers with a background in digital marketing, social media, community organizing campaigns geared towards the Bronx, and data collection for local government organizations working on transportation and mobility issues.
