Mayday Space is a multi-story organizing center and social hub in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Mayday is a destination for engaging programming, a home for radical ideas and debate, and a welcoming gathering place for people and movements to work, learn, celebrate and build together.
As a radical, volunteer-powered events space, Mayday inspires and sustains a justice-oriented community. Organizations large and small host meetings, performances, fundraisers, and retreats at Mayday. We rent our space on a sliding scale (down to free), prioritizing groups led by people of color, immigrants, women, queer and trans people, and poor and working class folks.
In addition to providing a home base for others, Mayday also curates its own workshops, classes, and events. We work with long-time community organizers to amplify a wide range of issues, from global concerns like climate justice to neighborhood issues like immigrant rights, food justice, and gentrification. Together we create opportunities for political education, arts and culture making, mutual aid efforts, and direct action.
